No, I’m not taking about Dolly Levi, the matchmaker in the film portrayed by Barbra Streisand, though I do love the movie! Nor is it about Dolly Pardon, even though I’m now residing in Tennessee. This is to introduce myself to the beautiful Naturally Frugalicious audience.
I’m Dolly, so nicknamed by my daddy at birth. I’m a Christian, homeschooling, trying to stretch a dollar, attempting to become more organized, working on becoming fit & healthy – physically, mentally, emotionally & financially – learning less is more wife & mom. Whew, sometimes that’s a lot to digest!
Growing up, when all my friends aspired to be teachers and nurses, (two of the most popular chosen professions for women back in the 60′s), my goal was to become a wife and mother. I felt that was what I was called to be and I still believe that today. Now some may disagree and that’s okay, but I believe there is no higher calling than to be a mom.
I love being married to my best friend, love of my life, high school sweetheart! This month we have been together for 30 years, thanks to the grace of God, a lot of hard work, many times of I’m sorry I was wrong; please forgive me and daily recommitting myself to the vows we shared on our wedding day.
But…I’m more than JUST a wife and mom. I wear many hats, even though some of them may not fit very well. I’m still a work in progress, but I am progressing!
Due to poor choices I suffer from COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease and obesity. I also have Fibromyalgia. Some days are much better than others, but I always look for a reason to be grateful.
You will learn a lot about me over time as I am transparent. I am a what you see is what you get kind of gal! You will leave here knowing exactly what’s on my mind!
I will be sharing all these things with you and more. It’s my desire to encourage you on your journey to becoming Naturally Frugalicious.
